The ASK-KIDS Inventory for Children is a brief, interesting and engaging self-concept inventory for pre-school and school-age children, which can be used in one-on-one or group situations.
The profiles provide meaningful indicators of self-concepts in children, in both clinical and educational settings. It can be used for screening and monitoring these self-concepts, as well as for research and program evaluation.
These self-concepts provide clinicians and educators who work with children valuable insights into children's understanding of themselves in relation to a range of activities.
The inventory asks children to think about themselves in relation to 10 common activities. Their responses form self-concepts about reading, drawing, making friends, maths, communication, appearance and more.
Each self-concept has five items. Each self-concept is an average of their responses to the five items in each set.
Children mark their responses onto the ASK-KIDS Inventory for Children Test Booklet using simple dot points that are circled (one dot is low, five dots is high).
Examiners then score and generate the self-concept profiles using the materials provided in the Test Booklet.
