The Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function - Preschool Version (BRIEF-P) is the first standardised rating scale designed to specifically measure the range of executive function in preschool-aged children, from 2-5 years of age.
A single Rating Form allows parents, teachers, and day care providers to rate a child's executive functions within the context of his or her everyday environments-home and preschool. Three broad indexes (Inhibitory Self-Control, Flexibility, and Emergent Metacognition), one composite score, and two validity scales (Inconsistency and Negativity) are provided.
The BRIEF-P Summary/Profile Form provides instructions for the examiner on hand-scoring, as well as summary tables for recording raw scores, T scores, and percentiles. The reverse side of the profile is used to plot a graph, to provide a visual representation of the T scores.
