The Conners Rating Scale - Third Edition (Conners 3) offers a thorough assessment of ADHD in children and adolescents from 6-18 years of age. The Conners 3 also addresses comorbid disorders such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder.
Ratings can be obtained from parents and teachers, and a self-report form is available. All forms are available in full-length and short-length versions.
The Conners 3 Parent Short QuickScore Form (Conners 3-P(S)) contains a subset of items from the full-length form (45 items). It is completed by a parent rater, and assesses behaviours and other concerns in children from the age of 6-18.
The parent writes on the external layers of the form, and the results then transfer through to the hidden scoring grid within. The examiner uses these internal layers to calculate the results. All QuickScore Forms include norms conversion tables (to convert the raw scores).
The short version provides evaluation of the key areas of inattention, hyperactivity/impulsivity, learning problems, executive functioning, aggression, and peer relations, making it an ideal measurement when time is limited or for follow-up testing/treatment monitoring. When used in conjunction with teacher ratings, differences between home and school are highlighted.
