The Developmental Assessment of Young Children - Second Edition (DAYC-2) is an assessment used to identify children birth through 5 years 11 months with possible delays in the 5 domains (Cognition, Communication, Social-emotional development, Physical development and Adaptive behaviour).
The domains can be assessed independently, so examiners may test the domains that interest them or test all five domains when a measure of general development is desired.
The DAYC-2 format allows examiners to obtain information about a child's abilities through observation, interview of caregivers, and direct assessment.
The DAYC-2 Cognitive Domain Scoring Form contains the items specific to the Cognitive Domain. The Form is used by the examiner to record the score for each item. There is also space for the raw scores, standard score and percentile rank.
The Cognitive Domain measures conceptual skills (such as memory, decision making).
