The Evaluation of Competency to Stand Trial-Revised (ECST-R) is a semistructured interview designed to assess dimensions of competency to stand trial as propounded in Dusky v. United States (1960) and consistently affirmed in subsequent Supreme Court decisions.

It is designed for specialised forensic evaluations related to competency to stand trial, and can also be used to evaluate important elements of competency to plead and competency for pro se.

The ECST-R Interview Booklet aids in facilitating administration and scoring. It is structured in the same format as the Record Form, providing the interview probes, rating and scoring criteria and additional administration guidelines for the examiner.
