Family Relations Test-Children's Version Record/Score Sheet for Younger Children (pkg 25)

The Family Relations Test (Children's Version) provides a quick and objective indication of the direction and intensity of the feelings and emotions (both positive and negative) that a child has towards each member of their family, as well as the child's estimate of their reciprocal regard for them.

Available for use with children from 3 to 7 years and 8 to 15 years, the test consists of 21 figures, which represent people of various ages, shapes and sizes, from which the child is asked to choose to represent their family members and significant individuals.

The Family Relations Test (Children's Version) Record/Score Sheet for Older Children is used to record the responses of the older child (3-7 years).

The child is presented with the 21 figures of the test, and the examiner must determine the child's conception of their family (i.e. who the people are in their family). This is then recorded on the Record/Score Sheet.

The 21 cards have messages written on them-and the examiner reads these statements to the child. The child places the cards the examiner reads out into the person who they think it fits best in their family (it can also be 'nobody', or fit several people), and these responses are recorded by the examiner.

The Score Sheet component contains rows and columns - the columns stand for Nobody, the Self, Father, Mother, Siblings and Others in the Family. The rows then stand for the item numbers. The examiner will mark the appropriate spaces, and add up the number of items that went into each person within each area.

Tables are then provided to summarise the data.
