Purpose: Predict violent and nonviolent offender recidivism among adult correctional and forensic populations
Time: 15 minutes
The Self-Appraisal Questionnaire (SAQ) is a multidimensional self-report questionnaire designed to predict violent and nonviolent offender recidivism among adult correctional and forensic populations.
The questionnaire assists with the assignment of these populations to appropriate treatment or correctional programs and also helps to assign institutional security levels.
The SAQ can be used as a pre- and post-treatment measure to help gauge progress and make decisions. With its short administration time, the SAQ is ideal for inmates with short sentences who would not normally warrant a lengthy assessment.
The SAQ QuikScore form is completed by the respondent and includes the necessary elements for administering and scoring the instrument.
