The Autism Spectrum Rating Scales (ASRS) can be used to identify symptoms, behaviours and associated features of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in children from 2-18 years of age.

It is an easy-to-use and convenient tool intended for psychologists, school psychologists, clinical social workers, physicians, counsellors, psychiatric workers and pediatric/psychiatric nurses. When used in combination with other assessment information, results from the ASRS can help guide clinicians diagnostic decisions, treatment planning, ongoing monitoring of response to intervention, and evaluating the effectiveness of a treatment program for a child with an ASD.

The ASRS is available through the MHS Assessment Center+. The MHS Assessment Center+ provides professionals the ability to administer, score and generate reports online. It also allows for printing of forms for client completion, and response entry from paper administrations.

The ASRS Teacher 6-18 Years Online Form allows completion of the ASRS online. Teachers can read items, as well as select and enter their responses online. The data is then scored and a report generated. This option requires 1 Online Response Form per client.

For individuals who do not wish to administer the ASRS assessments online, the MHS Assessment Center+ provides the capability of printing paper-and-pencil forms on demand. This option requires 1 Online Response Form (allows the printing of 1 Form, and online scoring and reporting).

The ASRS has been updated with DSM-5 symptom criteria for ASD. Users will have the option to choose to score with the DSM-IV-TR or DSM-5 criteria.
