Beat Dyslexia is designed to help any child, teenager or adult who is struggling to read, write or spell.

Full of variety and using a wide range of imaginative approaches, each pack in the Beat Dyslexia series is structured so that all the goals are small and attainable. Students gain confidence through success as they develop a sound understanding of basic spelling and grammar.

Based firmly on research and established methods in this field of teaching, Beat Dyslexia can be used by parents, carers, teachers, teaching assistants or tutors working on a one-to-one basis or with small groups, and no specialist training in the teaching of dyslexic children is required.

Each book contains between 50 and 80 photocopiable worksheets, teacher’s notes, photocopiable reference sheets, a colour card pack and an audio CD. A blank Certificate of Merit to praise pupils is also available.

Books 1-3 cover all the letters of the alphabet, introducing all the consonants, blends (e.g. pr, pl) and digraphs (two letters representing one sound: ng, th, sh, ch) and short vowels. On completion of the third book pupils will have mastered consonant digraphs and consonant clusters.

Books 4-6 are geared to the needs of slightly older pupils and introduce long vowels and other spelling patterns. Beat Dyslexia 6 is also suitable for use in secondary schools/colleges and responds to the needs of students who are undertaking further education.
