The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) Screening Form provides a fast, reliable and valid data point for determining eligibility for gifted and talented programs. The CogAT Screening Form consists of the analogies portion of each Battery from the full version CogAT form (Verbal/Picture Analogies, Number Analogies and Figure Matrices).

The CogAT Screening Form Norms and Score Conversions Guide provides information relevant to teachers and staff who hand score the CogAT Screening Form. The Guide covers all levels (5/6-17/18).

The guide provides information on completing the following conversions:

  • Converting the Screening Form Total to a Universal Scale Score
  • Converting the Universal Scale Score to a Standard Age Score, Age/Grade Percentile Rank, Age/Grade stanine and Normal Curve Equivalent

Once you have hand scored (using the score key), you will have a raw score for each subtest and battery, and the number of items attempted for each subset and battery.
