The Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ) helps evaluate communication skills and social functioning in children who may have autism or autism spectrum disorders. Completed by a parent or other primary caregiver in less than 10 minutes, the SCQ is a cost-effective way to determine whether an individual should be referred for a complete diagnostic evaluation.
It is available in two forms-Lifetime and Current-each composed of just 40 yes-or-no questions. Both forms can be given directly to the parent, who can answer the questions without supervision.
The SCQ Current Autoscore Form is for use in relation to current behaviour (past 3 months). Directions are printed on the front page, followed by the 'yes' and 'no' responses that the parent will circle for all items.
Once the parent has completed the form, the administrator will remove the perforated strip, and score the test using the scoring direction provided in the Autoscore Form.
