Range: Preschool and first two years of school
Purpose: To determine readiness for specific learning experiences by assessing cognitive processes underlying early literacy and numeracy skills.
Administration: Approximately 20 minutes – group or individual
Who Am I? provides a manageable, child-friendly and reliable assessment of young children's developmental level. It focuses on broad stages of development that determine a child's readiness for particular types of learning experiences, and identifies the levels that children have reached in their understanding and use of conventional symbols and relevant early learning skills.
Who Am I? provides a basis for planning a program to match the individual needs of children, and for identifying those children who may need additional help or a more challenging program.
