PAT-R 4th Edition - Comprehension

Please note: NON-OMR Answer sheets are while stocks last. Once remaining stock has sold, you will need to purchase OMR answer sheets. OMR Answer sheets can be hand-scored using the Teacher Manual in the same way as NON-OMR Answer sheets.

Range: Foundation to Year 10

Purpose: To monitor progress in reading comprehension and to provide teachers with diagnostic information to inform teaching.

Administration: Comprehension: 40 minutes (group – except for the Test Booklet P which is individual. Test Booklets P and 1 are untimed.)

The PAT Reading Fourth Edition is a thoroughly researched and normed test for measuring and tracking student achievement in reading comprehension, word knowledge and spelling. It provides teachers with objective information for setting realistic learning goals and planning effective programs.

The PAT Reading Fourth Edition - Comprehension test booklets are reusable (with the exception of Test Booklet P and 1 – students directly transcribe their results onto the booklets). OMR answer sheets (suitable for hand scoring and for use with Test Scoring Services) are available for use with Test Booklets 2–10. Non-OMR answer sheets (suitable for hand scoring only) are available for use with Test Booklets 2–6.

Suitable Year Levels

These tests include items that match the general range of ability of students in the target year level (highlighted in bold). For example, Test Booklet 4 is most suitable for assessment towards the end of year 4. Alternative norms are provided for off-level testing.
