The Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function®, Second Edition ADHD Form (BRIEF 2 ADHD Form) uses BRIEF2 scores and classification statistics within an evidence based approach to predict the likelihood of ADHD and determine subtype.
Using scores from the BRIEF2 Working Memory and Inhibit scales, the BRIEF 2 ADHD Form takes a three-step approach to help you determine the likelihood of ADHD:
- Compare plotted profiles to known ADHD profiles
- Use evidence-based statistics to eliminate likelihood of ADHD diagnosis and subtype
- Use a checklist to see how closely ratings align with DSM-5™ inattentive and hyperactive/impulsive criteria.
The BRIEF 2 ADHD Form helps evaluators "rule in" ADHD and "rule out" other explanations for observed behaviors, and helps inform development of IEP goals.
Test Structure
- Requires BRIEF2 Parent and/or Teacher form scores. BRIEF2 Self-Report Form scores are optional and can be used on the DSM-5™ Symptom Checklist.
- Compares profiles of parent and teacher ratings with profiles of children diagnosed with ADHD–Inattentive type and ADHD–Combined type.
- Examines probability of ADHD diagnosis using postive and negative predictive values.
Online Testing Update - 2022
From February 14, 2022, the BRIEF2 ADHD Form Online Score Report is no longer available on PARiConnect. Information from that report will be included in an updated BRIEF2 Parent/Teacher Form Interpretive Report.
Report changes:
All previously generated BRIEF2 ADHD Form Online Score Reports will be converted to BRIEF2 Parent/Teacher Form Interpretive Reports. They will appear in your PARiConnect account beginning February 16, 2022.
A new section in this Interpretive Report, “Comparison to Children and Adolescents with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder,” contains all the elements from the ADHD report: the ADHD profile graph, interpretive text, and DSM-5 ADHD Symptom Checklist.
