Purpose: Screens for acute and chronic posttraumatic symptomatology in young children
Age: 3-12 years
Time: 5 minutes to administer and score
The Trauma Symptom Checklist for Young Children - Screening Form (TSCYC-SF) allows you to quickly screen for posttraumatic stress and related psychological symptomatology in children ages 3-12 years who have experienced traumatic events, such as physical or sexual abuse, major loss, or natural disasters, or who have been a witness to violence.
Key Features
The TSCYC-SF was derived from the Trauma Symptom Checklist for Young Children (TSCYC). Selected items were best at predicting overall trauma and sexual-related symptomology. It includes 12 items and two subscales—General Trauma and Sexual Concerns—that are scored separately. The TSCYC-SF features separate cutoff scores (derived from TSCYC normative data) for boys and girls ages 3-4 years, ages 5-9 years, and ages 10-12 years.
The TSCYC-SF can now be administered and scored online via PARiConnect. TSCYC-SF i-Admins provide on-screen test administration, either in your office or remotely. Score reports provide scores and profiles based on response data from an i-Admin or a paper-and-pencil assessment (i-Admins and Score Reports are sold separately).
